Official Doctor Who game now available in Android Marketplace

August 22, 2011 - Staff@seenituk

The game was first released for the iPad and iPhone last year
Users of Android phones and tablets can now download the official Doctor Who mobile game, Doctor Who: The Mazes of Time, from the Android Marketplace.

Almost a yar after the game launched for Apple’s iPhone and iPad, BBC Worldwide, the broadcaster’s commercial arm, has released a version for the Android platform.

The title is the first Worldwide has released for Google’s mobile OS.

The game pits Matt’s Smith’s Doctor and companion Amy Pond against some of his most formidable enemies including the Cybermen, Daleks and Silurians.

Players must use both characters to find their way through obstacles without falling foul of the various traps and monsters that await them.

Robert Nashak, EVP at Digital Entertainment, BBC Worldwide said, “We’re delighted to be able to offer Android users the chance to play Doctor Who: The Mazes of Time.

“Android users make up an increasing percentage of the mobile market and we’re thrilled that they’ll now be able to find their way out of our mazes.”

The second half of Doctor Who’s sixth series starts this Saturday (August 27th) on BBC One and BBC One HD.
