Following last week’s report on Hammer’s project to restore its classic movie library, Dracula Prince Of Darkness is now available to pre-order on Blu-ray.
Starring Christopher Lee and Andrew Keir, the film is being released in the UK in conjunction with STUDIOCANAL in March 2012 as a Blu-ray Double Plat edition which includes a copy on DVD.
Other classic titles will be released in Blu-ray for the first time as part of Hammer’s restoration efforts which are being co-ordinated with distribution and production partners around the world.
The studio says it will be releasing “definitive versions” of its the hugely-influential Gothic classics The Curse of Frankenstein, Dracula and The Mummy in the coming months.
Last week Hammer CEO Simon Oakes said: “Our decision to restore some of Hammer’s most famous titles not only allows existing fans to experience the films again in high definition, but also encourages a new global audience to discover Hammer for the first time.
“We have a busy year ahead but are confident that our Blu-ray plans will ensure that Hammer’s legacy will live on for generations to come.”
Dracula Prince Of Darkness on Blu-ray can be pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk and the seenit.co.uk store.
