Micky Bricks (Adrian Lester) and the team are back for a new series of Hustle this week in an opening episode which proves you should always be careful who you upset.
Anna Chancellor guest stars as the rather nasty head of a modelling agency – the sort Anne Robinson and the Watchdog team might feature – who makes the mistake of scamming a naive, wide-eyed girl from Liverpool who just happens to be the niece of their pal Eddie (Rob Jarvis).
Returning for their third series are Matt Di Angelo and Kelly Adams who have slotted into the series so well that it’s almost impossible to think that they’ve not always been there alongside Lester and fellow original cast members Robert Glenister and Robert Vaughn.
In this week’s episode Lester steals the show as a camp, frivolous designer while Chancellor excels as a thoroughly unlikable baddie who you’ll urging the team to teach a well deserved lesson.
On the strength of the series opener we’re in for two months of sassy hi-jinks.
BBC One, Friday 7th January at 9.00pm
PS: I originally said the series ran to eight episodes however it seems the series is in fact running at the normal 6 episodes. Apols!
