Random considering eBook editions of entire Ripley series

February 2, 2012 - Staff@seenituk

News that Random House’s Vintage Digital imprint has published an eBook edition Patricia Highsmith’s The Talented Mr Ripley prompted a couple of readers to enquire about plans for the rest of the series.

Though the 1999 Matt Damon film probably made ‘Talented’ the most famous, there are five Tom Ripley books including Ripley Under Ground, Ripley’s Game, The Boy Who Followed Ripley and Ripley Under Water.

As wikipedia reminds us, across the five books Ripley commits nine murders and and indirectly causes an additional four deaths.

Back to the original question – the kind souls at Random’s press office advise us: “publication of the series as ebooks is something we are looking at, but there is nothing definitive to announce at this moment in time.”
