Random House Audio becomes new distributor of BBC Audiobooks

DWAtTheBBC_LostTreasures.inddRandom House Audio is to become to sole distributor of BBC-branded physical CDs in the UK and the rest of the world excluding North America, Australia and New Zealand.

The news follows the collapse of AudioGo which previously distributed the BBC’s content and grew out BBC Audio.

The company will also be responsible for sales and take global responsibility for download sales with leading digital retailers, including Audible.

As well as best-selling titles by world-famous authors, BBC Worldwide’s extensive catalogue includes top BBC Radio Comedy such I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue and Just A Minute and the landmark series A History Of The World In 100 Objects.

It also features drama titles including Doctor Who, The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings.

BBC Worldwide says audiences will be able to enjoy a series of new releases developed and co-published by BBC Worldwide and Random House Audio.
