Opening in cinemas this week, Offender is a gritty youth crime thriller set in the brutal world of a young offender’s institute.
Written by Paul Van Carter (Shank, Anuvahood), the film marks director Ron Scalpello’s feature film debut and is being released to coincide with the anniversary of the London riots.
Joe Cole (Skins and Ol Parker’s Now Is Good) playsTommy, a young man forced to set up his own incarceration to exact revenge on the violent gang who brutally attacked his girlfriend and their unborn child.
Offender has been produced with the support of the UK charity Carney’s Community which works to help troubled youngsters get involved in the filmmaking process and into training and education, to keep them away from a life of crime.
A portion of the net profits from the film will be donated to the charity.
Released by Revolver Entertainment, Offender arrives in cinemas nationwide from 8th August 2012.
