Ripper Street series three trailer

Amazon Secures Exclusive Rights To Critically Acclaimed British Drama Ripper Street For Amazon Prime Instant VideoAmazon has confirmed that the third series of Ripper Street will debut on its Prime Instant Video service next month.

The firm picked up the show after BBC One bosses dropped it because of poor ratings.

That decision prompted a social media campaign to revive the show, something Amazon claims to have played a part in its decision to bring the show back in partnership with producers Tiger Aspect Productions and Lookout Point and the BBC.

Episodes 1 and 2 will be available to members from 9pm on 14 November, with a new episode available every Friday, finishing with an explosive finale on Boxing Day.

The entire series will also be screened on BBC One at a later date.

Series three sees fan favourites Matthew Macfadyen (Detective Inspector Edmund Reid), Jerome Flynn (Detective Inspector Bennet Drake) and Adam Rothenberg (Captain Homer Jackson) return for more cases.

Joining the cast this year is Sherlock’s Louise Brearly, alongside female cast regulars Myanna Buring (Long Susan Hart) and Charlene McKenna (Rose Erskine).
