Russell Howard’s Good News is being moved to BBC Two ahead of next year’s expected axing of BBC Three.

Earlier this year BBC bosses announced that BBC Three would cease to exist as a broadcast channel, with selected content available to stream via iPlayer.

The change is likely to see a number of the channel’s programmes axed, but Howard’s news-based comedy is set to escape the purge by moving to BBC Two later this year.

Announcing the move, BBC Two controller Kim Shillinglaw, said:“It is brilliant news that the wonderfully funny Russell Howard is coming to BBC Two and I very much look forward to welcoming his lively take on modern life to the channel.”
