Samsung keeps popping at iPhone users

January 22, 2012 - Staff@seenituk

The Samsung Galaxy S II
Samsung continue their Apple-baiting ad campaign with this US ad for their Galaxy S II.

As before it thinks the best way to get people to switch from the world’s best selling handset (no, not operating system) is to mock them. I’ve previously set out my reservations with that strategy here.

We looked at the UK version of the Galaxy S II last year.

It’s decent phone, too wide for my liking but that’s a purely subjective thing, and it has a great screen.

But it lacks the build quality of the iPhone, using flimsy plastic over Apple’s precision engineered glass and steel.

I’m not sure you can claim to be competing unless you take on the rivals pn all fronts – including the industrial design and build.

The Samsung ad fires an unintended subliminal message to viewers – the guys phone is so good people all around the world queue through the night to get one.

When was the last time Samsung could say that about one of their phones?
