Samsung Smart TV users gets new ad-supported TV & film app

October 16, 2014 - Staff@seenituk

ScreenHitsUK tech start-up ScreenHits has signed an exclusive deal to get their ad-supported TV and film app into Samsung’s range of Smart TVs.

The app will provide audiences and consumers with a curated collection of television programming and films, along with opportunities to view and comment on pilots currently in the potential distribution pipeline.

It will be pre-installed on every Samsung Smart TV where viewers will also benefit from free annual memberships as well as special content and discounts on rentals.

Users will have a choice of free with ads or ad-free rental viewing models.

Content partnerships with Fox International, Telemundo and Fremantle mean viewers can enjoy instant and unlimited access to big screen hits like Don Jon, Oscar-nominated Katyn, The Family, Pablo Escobar and UK TV favourite – the IT Crowd.

Consumers will also have access to a wide-range of documentaries, art house and classics films ranging from Psycho to the African Queen.

“As we embark upon the formal launch of our site and app, we could not be happier with the partnership forged with the global leader in smart televisions, Samsung,” stated Rose Adkins, CEO of ScreenHits.

Adkins added: “We are providing worldwide viewers hyper-curated programming that will allow discovery of new and venerable shows and films from producers around the globe, viewers will be able to select from 200-250 selected programs and films which will change quarterly under both a free and pay program plan.”
