UK tech start-up ScreenHits has signed an exclusive deal to get their ad-supported TV and film app into Samsung’s range of Smart TVs.
The app will provide audiences and consumers with a curated collection of television programming and films, along with opportunities to view and comment on pilots currently in the potential distribution pipeline.
It will be pre-installed on every Samsung Smart TV where viewers will also benefit from free annual memberships as well as special content and discounts on rentals.
Users will have a choice of free with ads or ad-free rental viewing models.
Content partnerships with Fox International, Telemundo and Fremantle mean viewers can enjoy instant and unlimited access to big screen hits like Don Jon, Oscar-nominated Katyn, The Family, Pablo Escobar and UK TV favourite – the IT Crowd.
Consumers will also have access to a wide-range of documentaries, art house and classics films ranging from Psycho to the African Queen.
