Iconic gangster movie Scarface, which charts the rise of drugs kingpin Tony Montana (Al Pacino), comes to Blu-ray for the first time this week courtesy of Universal Pictures UK.
As you’d expect from a flagship release, the film looks and sounds great and is accompanied on the disc by a wealth of extras.
These chronicle everything from the controversy surrounding the film’s original release through to the creation of the Scarface computer game via a look at the changes needed to make it suitable for a TV broadcast.
For me, one the most interesting is a look the origins of the movie and the influences of the Howard Hawks original which inspired it.
Scarface is a true classic which has inspired countless copycat films and games but this Blu-ray release offers a chance to re-enjoy one of cinema’s greatest original gangster flicks.
The release also includes DVD and Digital Edition copies so you can enjoy the film on your non-Blu-ray laptop and iPad, making the sub-£16 asking price even better value for money.
Order Scarface on Blu-ray from the seenit.co.uk store, HMV.com or Amazon.co.uk
PS: To mark the film’s Blu-ray release, the official Facebook page is hosting online game ‘Montana’s Miami’ in which you get to discover whether you can drive the street of Miami better then Montana himself!
