Sky Sports will “never stand still” says channel boss

December 30, 2016 - Staff@seenituk

Sky Sports boss Barney Francis has promised to “never stand still” in his quest to bring subscribers “the best choice and quality” of top sporting contests.

2016, which marked the channel’s 25th anniversary, saw the launch of the new Sky Sports Mix channel which is free to all Sky TV homes and the securing of some major rights packages including full coverage of The Open Championship.

In the coming 12 months Sky Sports will provide exclusive coverage of the British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand and every F1 Grand Prix fixture in UHD.

Other highlights include England’s home Test matches and the Women’s Cricket World Cup, Super League and The British Open which make their channel debut.

Francis said: “As our service continues to grow, so does our passion for offering Sky Sports viewers the best choice and quality.

“The last twelve months have been a stand-out year for Sky Sports as we celebrated our 25th anniversary.

“However, we never stand still and as we look forward to 2017, the schedule looks as busy as ever with some mouth-watering sport to look forward to.  We can’t wait.”
