Sony unveils new soundbars, including Dolby Atmos and virtual 3D sound model

Sony has unveiled three new soundbars, including a new model with Dolby Atmos and virtual 3D sound.

The premium HT-ZF9 model offers virtual three-dimensional surround sound without the need for additional ceiling or up-firing speakers, bringing “cinematic audio” to your home.

Its support for Dolby Atmos means subscribers to BT and Sky’s sports channels will be able to enjoy high quality, atmospheric sound when watching the broadcasters’ Premier League coverage and other selected sporting events.

Sony has also unveiled the 2.1channel HT-XF9000 soundbar Atmos and Vertical Surround Engine, plus the HT-SF200 with built-in subwoofer and support for Dolby Digital.

The HT-ZF9 model will be priced at approximately £600, with the HT-XF9000 model priced around £450. All three models will be available from spring 2018.
