Fans of the BBC’s Top Gear and cinema’s Fast and Furious franchise have long known that cars look super-stylish and even a little bit sexy when they’re lit, framed and directed with the same care and attention as a Hollywood A-lister.
Well it turns out that the super-smart guys at Japanese car-maker Nissa also know this.
The firm has teamed up with DC Shoes and DC’s acclaimed skateboard filmmaker Chris Ray to produce The Headlight Sessions – an exciting new online film showcasing Nissan’s Juke NISMO RS model.
Featuring the talents of some of the world’s greatest skaters, the film sets out to demonstrate why the NISMO is the perfect choice for young, dynamic drivers looking for a car that matches their active lifestyle.
A roster of leading skaters, including 2014 Thrasher Skater of the Year Wes Kremer, plus Matt Miller, Madars Apse, Antony Lopez and Joseph Scott, use the car’s curves to complement their impressive board skills.
Ray’s inventiveness in incorporating the NISMO into the stunts ensures it’s an integral part of the action – see how the skaters use the angled bonnet lights to give them extra lift for a nice demonstration of this.
To ensure the film’s background was as impressive as its star and the stunts within, the filmmaker and his film crew headed to Barcelona where they could be certain of bright nights, wide open spaces and an eye-catching nighttime panorama.
The result is one of the most stylish and impressive brand videos we’ve seen in ages – with visuals, action and music that blend to create a carefully honed celebration of style and flair.
