Here’s an official gameplay trailer for Battlefield Hardline, the latest instalment in EA Games’ first person shooter series.
The new game drops the military setting familiar from previous editions in the franchise in favour of an all-new story which places the player in the midst of the “war on crime”.
As the video below shows, that change doesn’t mean players are in for an easy ride this time around – Battlefield Hardline is packed with a series of explosive missions challenge players’ tactical, driving and shooting skills.
Nor does the move away from a war-based plot line mean developers Visceral Games have gone easy on the weapons – there’s still plenty of heavy firepower as you battle your way through a series of richly detailed crime scenes.
Gamers can choose between single-player and multi-player modes, both of which promise high-octane thrills and plenty of action.
There are also seven distinct game types including Heist in which criminals must break into a cash filled vault, Rescue in which members of a SWAT team must battle to rescue hostages, and Blood Money where teams must retrieve money from a crate in the centre of the map and move it back to their armoured truck.
Battlefield Hardline has been developed by Visceral Games in collaboration with EA Digital Illusions CE and is published by Electronic Arts. It’s released in the UK this week.
