A full orchestral screening of The Empire Strikes Back is coming to the Royal Albert Hall this September.
The second instalment of the original Star Wars trilogy will get five screenings, all with John Williams’ iconic score performed live on stage by the acclaimed Philharmonia Orchestra.
Williams’ iconic score for the film is one of the most renowned in film history and introduced some of the franchise’s most memorable themes – introducing the Imperial March and Yoda’s Theme.
Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “We were delighted to host the UK premiere of Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert last year, one of the most requested films in the ten years that we’ve been hosting Films in Concert.
“We’re ecstatic that Star Wars is coming back this year, with the most critically-acclaimed and musically ground-breaking movie in the series.”
Tickets are on sale at 9am on Friday from www.royalalberthall.com, with a Wednesday pre-sale for the venue’s Friends and Patrons.
