Universal Pictures has released a sneak peek at The Bourne Legacy, the fourth film based on Robert Ludlum’s novels.
This new film takes its name from a novel by Eric Van Lustbader who continued the franchise after Ludlum’s death.
Missing this time around is Bourne himself, played by Matt Damon in the earlier films.
The story resumes after the conclusion of The Bourne Ultimatum with a new cast of characters grappling with the consequences of Bourne’s actions.
The action centres on Aaron Cross (Jeremy Reener) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by previous events.
Back from the earlier films are Joan Allen, reprising her role as Deputy Director Pamela Landy, David Strathairn, as Noah Vosen, the former director of Operation Blackbriar, Albert Finney, as Dr. Albert Hirsch, the doctor responsible for the creation of Treadstone and Scott Glenn as Ezra Kramer, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Joining the franchise for this film are Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton.
The Bourne Legacy is released in the US on August 3, 2012
