The Conjuring – new trailer

Here’s the trailer for upcoming horror movie, The Conjuring which hits UK cinemas early next month and US screens later this week.

Inspired by true events, the film stars Vera Farmiga – due to hit UK screens soon as Norma Louise Bates in Bates Motel – and Patrick Wilson (Insidious, The A Team) as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

The husband and wife team are enlisted to help the Perron family whose Rhode Island farmhouse is being haunted by a dark presence.

The powerful force they encounter in the couple’s home proves to be deeply disturbing and leaves the Warren’s trapped in a situation more terrifying than any they’ve experienced before.

Producer Tony DeRosa-Grund has been working on developing the film for more than 20 years, ever since hearing a tape of Ed Warren’s original interview with Carolyn Perron.

The film has been written by brothers Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes who previously wrote the 2005 remake of House of Wax and directed by James Wan who has previously helmed Saw, Death Sentence and Insidious. The trailer below offers a small insight into the terrors which have thrilled test audiences in the States where the film gets a full release on July 19th.

Be sure to keep the lights on when watching! Early reactions, including from festivals screenings, have been so good that New Line is reportedly working on a sequel, creating a new Horror movie franchise.

Produced by New Line Cinema, The Safran Company and Evergreen Media Group, The Conjuring is released by Warner Bros. Pictures on August 2nd.
