UKTV is bringing its free on demand app, UKTV Play, to NOW TV devices and Roku’s range of streaming players.
The app hosts shows from UKTV’s Dave, Yesterday, Really and Drama channels, including it’s original commissions such as Taskmaster, Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit and Cop Car Workshop, a brand new documentary series featuring behind-the-scenes access to one of Britain’s leading police car workshops.
Richard Williams, General Manager, UKTV Play said: “We’re always striving to give viewers easy access to the shows they love and want, on as many platforms as possible.
“UKTV Play offers instant access to so many brilliant programmes and with four brand new UKTV Original shows recently announced – Judge Romesh, Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier, Inside The Vets and Cop Car Workshop – and even more in the pipeline, viewers will have plenty of new shows to watch on NOW TV and Roku in 2018 and beyond.
“Following a record-breaking year in 2017 when we had 100 million views for the first time ever, this is another step forward for UKTV Play and we hope viewers enjoy having new access to UKTV shows on-demand, on the NOW TV and Roku platforms.”
Gidon Katz, Managing Director, NOW TV said: “When it comes to great TV, we know choice and flexibility matters, so we’re really excited to be welcoming the free UKTV Play app onto our family of streaming devices.
“Let the binging on Taskmaster and Most Haunted commence!”
Ingo Reese, Director Content Distribution at Roku commented: “Our aim is to provide our users with the best possible content line-up and easy access to the shows they love.
“With UKTV Play launching on Roku streaming players, we add another great option to our free-to-watch offering with top-notch content.”
