The latest version of Barnes & Noble’s NOOK GlowLight ebook reader is now available in the UK.
Priced at £89.99, the WiFi capable device includes a built-in store for easy purchasing of books and magazines and is available from NOOK’s UK website or from its retail partners, including John Lewis and Argos.
NOOK have dropped the industry standard greys and blacks in favour of a bright, page-like soft white casing which can be customised with the purchase of colourful iPhone-style bumpers.
The new device stores up to 2,000 books – more than Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite – and the firm claims an eight week battery life based on 30 minutes of use each day.
NOOK also claims to have eliminated ‘screen flash’ when pages are turned, helping to create a more seamless reading experience.
“We are excited to launch the new NOOK GlowLight in the UK. The new NOOK, designed for people who love to read anytime, anywhere, takes the reading experience to a whole new level,” said Colin Eustace, General Manager, Barnes & Noble S.à.r.l.
“We have developed an all new lightweight design that is extremely comfortable to hold in one hand.
“Lighter and brighter, with a crisp, sharp text, no full page flashing and no ads, our redesigned reading experience is more immersive than ever making the device a must-have item for long-form readers.”
