Release by Studiocanal on November 14th, the film shows the nail-biting race against time by Turing (Cumberbatch) and his team of at Britain’s top-secret cypher school at Bletchley Park to break the enemy’s codes.
The story spans the key periods of Turing’s life, from his unhappy teenage years through to the triumph of his secret wartime work to the tragedy of his post-war decline following his conviction for being gay.
The Imitation Game also stars Matthew Goode, Mark Strong, Rory Kinnear, Allen Leech and Matthew Beard.
