Video: Sir David Attenborough wows a cheetah

Sir David introduces episode 1 to an audience of journalists and guests. Image: UKTVBroadcasting legend Sir David Attenborough returns to Watch next week for with a brand new series of David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities.

The show sees the ever-popular presenter and journalist explore some of the natural world’s most extraordinary and baffling species.

Episode one examines the truth behind the claims that fleas can leap great heights and investigate whether a cheetah can really run at more than 70 miles per hour.

Earlier this week Sir David introduced the first episode to an audience of journalists and invited guests at a special event in London Zoo.

Speaking after the show revealed tat that of all of nature’s creatures, the one that most makes his “jaw drop” is a human baby because of its potential for development.

He said: “The rate at which it grows. The rate at which it learns. The rate at which is acquires nerves. It is the most complex and the most extraordinary of all creatures. Nothing compares to it.”
