Waterstone’s offers colour ereader for under £70

February 22, 2011 - Staff@seenituk

Bookseller Waterstone’s has slashed the price of its colour ereader to £69.99 – a saving of £30 on the Elonex manufactured device’s previous selling price.

The 5″ reader supports the ePub files protected by Adobe DRM and is also capable of playing MP3s and movies. Waterstone’s claims a 6 hour battery life when the device is used as an ereader, significantly below that of greyscale ink screens.

Specs:

  • 5″ TFT colour display with wide-screen
  • 2GB internal storage with SD memory card slot (up to 32GB)
  • Supports Adobe’s ePub, the most popular eBook download format
  • 5 adjustable font sizes so no need for reading glasses
  • MP3 player to play music and audio books
  • Photo viewer allows you to create albums and slideshows
  • Video and movie viewer
  • Up to 20 hours battery life (6 hours when reading)
  • Weighs just 190 grams

Earlier this month UK supermarket Asda announced a £52 colour device which is widely believed to be the lowest priced reader available in the UK.
