The brand new series of Anthony Jay and Jonathan Lynn’s Yes, Prime Minister debuts on Gold tomorrow with David Haig taking over the role of Prime Minister Jim Hacker.
The six-part series sees Hacker back in office as PM and leading a coalition government confronting the greatest economic crisis in a generation.
As always, his plans for Government must get past the machinations of Sir Humphrey Appleby (Henry Goodman).
Principal Private Secretary Bernard Woolley (Chris Larkin) is also back for the new series while Hacker gains a new personal advisor Claire Sutton (Zoe Telford).
Following the first episode, Gold will screen a one-off documentary, Yes Prime Minister: Re-elected, in which key political figures including Lord Heseltine, Lord Lawson, Tessa Jowell, Alun Johnson and Alastair Campbell, discuss the show’s legacy.
Plus, original cast member Derek Fowlds discusses life on the set of the classic series.
