YouView gains new channel numbers after red button switch

July 7, 2014 - Staff@seenituk

huawei-youview-dn371tA hundred new channel numbers are being freed up for connected TV platform YouView for its internet delivered channels.

The service offers both Freeview aerial channels and, via BT and TalkTalk, additional subscription channels via broadband.

These currently start at channel number 400 but are set to move to the 300 range after Digital UK, the company which operates the Freeview programme guide agreed to move the BBC’s red button service to new channel numbers in the 600 range.

Dates for the change will be confirmed later this summer.
