YouView, the TV platform which brings together linear aerial and IPTV channels with on-demand and catch-up content, has announced Susie Buckridge, currently its Director of Product & Business Development, will succeed Richard Halton as CEO.
YouView is a joint venture owned by BT, TalkTalk, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Arqiva and powers BT and TalkTalk’s pay-TV services.
Buckridge has worked at the company for the past 8 years, having joined from the BBC where she served as Head of Strategy in Future Media and then in the Business Strategy team. Previously she worked as a consultant at Cap Gemini and Ernst and Young.
Buckridge will succeed outgoing CEO Richard Halton who announced his departure earlier this year.
In her current role at YouView she’s been responsible for partnerships and commercial affairs, rising to Director of Product and more recently, working with Halton and the Board to agree a new shareholder agreement.
Simon Duffy, Chairman of YouView said: “We are delighted to announce Susie Buckridge as YouView’s new CEO.
“We have selected a strong leader who knows the team, the shareholders and the market well and who is stepping up into this significant new role at an exciting moment in YouView’s history.”
Susie Buckridge said: “It is a great privilege to become CEO of such a successful British technology company.
“Richard Halton’s strong leadership means I will be leading a company at the forefront of the media industry.
“Our continued mission will be to work with our seven shareholders, harnessing their combined strength in the UK market to bring new TV products and services to consumers.”
