Channel boss Zai Bennett has confirmed the show’s fourth series will be its last, and will be entirely set during the wedding of Becky’s sister Laura and fiancé Paul.
The show debuted with a six-part run in September 2010 and has been a ratings success for the channel.
Series writer Writer Stefan Golaszewski says: “After three series in Steve and Becky’s bedsit, we’re moving them into the outside world as we reach the final chapter of their story. It’s been a great few years and I feel incredibly lucky to have worked with such a talented team.”
Tovey’s latest sitcom, The Job Lot, starts on ITV this week.
Set in a busy West Midlands Job Centre, the series focuses on the relationships between the people who work there, and the people who don’t.
