BBC Three’s supernatural drama series Being Human, which reached a gripping conclusion to its third series this weekend, is to return for a fourth series.
The hit show series stars Russell Tovey and Sinead Keenan as werewolves George & Nina and Lenora Crichlow as ghost Annie. The first three series also starred Aidan Turner as vampire Mitchell.
Producers say the fourth series will find the trio of George, Nina and Annie coping with the aftermath of the third season’s finale which saw Mitchell fall victim to the prophesied “wolf-shaped bullet”.
Announcing the fourth series, Harry Lansdown, Acting Controller of BBC Three, said: “Being Human’s brilliant mixture of fantasy and everyday life continues to provide must-see, ground breaking drama for BBC Three, and I’m delighted to announce a fourth series for 2012.”
Series creator and Executive Producer Toby Whithouse promised viewers “another intense and epic story” involving “new faces and old, and even more horror and mayhem and mugs of tea.”
The 8-part new series films later this year and will air in 2012.
