Blackberry users receive free apps for service outage

Blackberry users were unable to access their email for several days
Blackberry makers RIM are offering users £60 of ”premium” apps as an apology after they experienced three days of service interruption.

Last week UK Blackberry owners were unable to access websites and emails do to a failure within RIM’s network infrastructure.

On Monday RIM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis announced firm would be making an “expression of appreciation” for the “patience” shown by ts users.

In a statement Lazaridis said: “We truly appreciate and value our relationship with our customers.

“We’ve worked hard to earn their trust over the past 12 years, and we’re committed to providing the high standard of reliability they expect, today and in the future.”

The apps will become available to download via BlackBerry App World over a four week period Wednesday, October 19th.

The apps will include the following:

  • N.O.V.A.
  •  Texas Hold’em Poker 2
  • Bubble Bash 2
  • Photo Editor Ultimate
  • DriveSafe.ly Pro
  • iSpeech Translator Pro
  • Drive Safe.ly Enterprise
  • Nobex Radio™ Premium
  • Shazam Encore
  • Vlingo Plus: Virtual Assistant
