BT to launch YouView based TV offering in October

YouView combines broadcast channels with broadband delivered content
BT says it will launch its revamped TV service on 26 October, giving customers “super-fast fibre broadband” and a YouView box for just £18 per month.

New customers who sign up to BT Infinity will receive the YouView box for free.

Customers not in an Infinity enabled area will also be able to get a free YouView box when they subscribe to TV Essential, starting at £4/month but will need to pay a £49 activation fee.

Existing customers can also upgrade to YouView for £49.

In addition to the standard YouView catch-up and on demand offering, BT customers will gain access a BT Vision app offering over five thousand programmes and films.

Customers can register their interest in at www.bt.com/youview and will have the opportunity to be first to place their order during an exclusive window between October 19-26.

BT is one of seven equal shareholders in YouView.
