BT TV adds Alibi and W HD channels with three more UKTV High Definition channels to follow

July 6, 2016 - Martin Hoscik@seenituk

W_channe_LOGO_BLUE_1200High Definition versions of three more UKTV owned channels are set to launch on BT TV this October, joining Alibi HD and W HD which arrived on the platform earlier this week.

Last summer the two companies expanded their content partnership to add Standard Definition versions of UKTV’s full portfolio of channels to BT’s EPG, catch-up service and TV Everywhere app.

The arrival of the two HD channels this week are also part of this deal and marks the first time UKTV’s content is available in HD to BT’s TV customers.

SEENIT has now been told that they’re to be joined by HD versions of Dave, Good Food and Eden in October, meaning BT will be offering the full suite of UKTV HD channels.

The broadcaster, which has bolstered investment in both original commissions and top name acquisitions, is currently seeking to expand the distribution of its channels.

Recent moves have included a new catch-up and on-demand deal with Virgin Media, adding its catch-up service to Freeview Play and moving some channels from pay-TV to Free-To-Air.
