BT TV users to gain new-look video on demand player

June 26, 2014 - Staff@seenituk

bt_g4_youview_remoteBT has announced plans to revamp the video on demand service offered via its YouView set top boxes.

Over the next few weeks the company will roll-out a new-look interface which it promises will “make finding your favourite films and programmes easier” and “load more quickly.”

The company uses the video on demand player to offer a mix of pay per view and subscription based content, as well as to sell digital copies of major films which users can keep forever.

In addition to being faster to load, the revamp will introduce “a new font to help with legibility and accessibility”.

Users of BT’s older Vision+ box will receive a separate update with the new look later this year.

Alex Green, director of BT TV, said: “Our update is more than just a makeover. It will improve the performance of BT TV for customers, making navigation easier and faster.

“This follows our move from the BT Vision brand to simply using the BT master brand to cover our TV services.”
