Channel 4 has snapped up UK rights to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D – the new TV series from Joss Whedon set in the world of Marvel’s hit Avengers Assemble film.
The series will air on Channel 4 in autumn, “soon after” its US launch on the ABC network.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D sees Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Iron Man and Avengers Assemble.
Coulson assembles a small, highly select group of Agents to investigate the new, the strange and the unknown from across the globe protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.
Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton – “Blue Bloods”, “Army Wives”), highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen – “ER”, “Eureka”), expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker – “The Fades”, “In Fear”), brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge – “Hollyoaks”, “Shelter”), genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker, Skye (Chloe Bennet – “Nashville”, “Intercept”).
Channel 4 Chief Creative Officer, Jay Hunt says; “Like the Super Hero universe from which it has come, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is big, bold and absolutely exhilarating.
