EE to reach 14m 4G customer target this year

ee_shop_seenitEE says it’s “firmly on track” to reach its target of 14m 4G customers by the end of the year after signing up 1.7m new connections in the three months ending March 31st.

In its latest trading update the firm claims the new additions are the highest in Europe and say they re-affirm its position as the continent’s “biggest 4G operator”

The update also reveals that that connections to EE’s superfast mobile data network now account for 96% of all new sign-ups as customers increasingly switch away from its legacy T-Mobile and Orange brands which are limited to offering 3G speeds.

EE’s shareholders Orange and Deutsche Telekom are currently in the process of selling the firm to BT for £12bn.
