Freesat launches new < free time > box

freesat_whiteFreesat, the BBC and ITV backed free-to-air digital satellite platform, has unveiled a white version of its new box.

Launched last September as a rival YouView, combines live channels with a backwards EPG and catch-up content from selected providers.

Although the service launched with the promise of catch-up players from BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, only iPlayer and ITV Player are currently available.

Like its black counterpart, the new white box is manufactured by Humax.

It is also Wi-fi enabled and features 1TB of storage, enough to record around 600 hours of television.

This latest Freesat+ box joins the existing range of Freesat digital satellite HD boxes and integrated HDTVs. It will be available to buy this week from retailers and online later this month at a RRP of £299.
