Channel 4 has commissioned a fourth series of its multi-award winning comedy, ‘Friday Night Dinner’.
The show sees twenty-something brothers Adam (Simon Bird) and Jonny (Tom Rosenthal) go back to Mum (Tamsin Grieg) and Dad’s (Paul Ritter) house for Friday each week for an evening of domestic squabbling, food-related pranking and lashings of ‘crimble crumble’.
Each week their enjoyment of the meal is interrupted by the unannounced but much expected arrival of neighbour Jim (Mark Heap).
In the new series Jonny gets serious with a ‘female’, Adam injures Jonny after buttering the kitchen floor, Mum is forced to pretend that her mother has died, Dad invites a friend over who talks with his eyes closed, ‘Horrible Grandma’ returns for more horribleness, and a terrified Jim has to look after five dogs.
The series is written and produced by Robert Popper and made by Big Talk Productions and Popper Pictures for Channel 4.
Channel 4’s Deputy Head Of Comedy, Nerys Evans, said: “It’s always a joy to welcome back the wonderfully doolally world of Friday Night Dinner, and series 4 looks set to be a real corker.”
