Humax announces updated Freesat set top box

Set top box maker Humax has announced an upgraded non-recording Freesat receiver which includes integrated Wi-Fi connectivity to allow direct access to on-demand and catch-up services.

Delivering more than 200 subscription-free satellite TV and radio channels, the Humax HB-1100S Smart TV Box comes with BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, STV Player, All4 and Demand 5, which are all available via the smart guide.

In addition, users can enjoy photos, videos and music from connected devices on their home network on a HD TV.

Alistair Thom, managing director of Freesat, said, “We’re thrilled to launch a sleek Freesat smart TV box with HUMAX.

“The HB-1100S is the perfect set-top-box for viewers who love quality entertainment and the freedom to enjoy TV when they want it.

“Viewers can catch up on shows they’ve missed from BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub or top up their subscription-free TV with the likes of Netflix.”

Graham North, vice president sales at HUMAX, said, “HUMAX is once again ahead of the game with the new HB-1100S, providing outstanding entertainment and exceptional value.

“With the addition of Wi-Fi connectivity to our highly successful Freesat zapper, we’re now offering the ultimate package of subscription-free TV content, seamless streaming of on-demand programming and incredible choice and flexibility for the consumer – but without the usual hefty costs involved with satellite services.”
