Song for Marion, the heart-warming story about the celebration of life, comes to DVD and Blu-ray on June 24th and is available for pre-order from Amazon.co.uk.
The film stars Vanessa Redgrave, Terrence Stamp, Gemma Arterton and Christopher Eccleston and follows shy, grumpy pensioner Arthur (Stamp) as he is reluctantly inspired by his beloved wife Marion (Redgrave) to join a local seniors choir.
Already at odds with his son James (Eccleston), Arthur’s life takes a turn for the worst and he finds himself with nothing left to sing about. It is left to charismatic choir director Elizabeth (Arterton) to try and persuade Arthur that he can learn to embrace life once again.
The choir’s songbook ranges from selections such as ‘You are the sunshine of my Life’ to unconventional classics including Motorhead’s ‘Ace of Spades’ and ‘Let’s talk about sex!’
As the choir final looms, Song for Marion follows Arthur as he embarks on a hilarious, life-affirming journey of musical self-discovery…
