The trio will join series regulars Philip Winchester, Sullivan Stapleton, Rhona Mitra, Michelle Lukes and Liam Garrigan for the fourth series which sees Section 20 pursue a deadly terrorist network from Colombia to Beirut to Europe.

The 10-part series is currently in production in South Africa and Hungary and will air on Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD this summer.

Green (Mount Pleasant, Soldier Soldier) will play Lt Colonel Philip Locke, a commanding officer in chief will join the Section 20 team.

Clunes (Doc Martin, Men Behaving Badly) plays Sebastian Gray, a former MI6 agent turned independent intelligence officer working in Beirut. Scott (Mission Impossible II, Desperate Housewives) will star as James Leatherby, a wealthy rogue operative and self-styled war junkie.

Huw-Kennair Jones, commissioning editor for Sky: “There really is nothing else like Strike Back on British TV, it’s a fantastic series full of explosive action that delivers a mini-movie each week.

“Working with HBO and Leftbank we’ve really upped the ante this year with a truly ambitious, global plot that I hope our customers will relish. I am thrilled Robson, Martin and Dougray have joined the cast for a very special fourth series.”

Robson Green: “It is great to be working alongside ‘Section 20’ and being part of an ‘Elite Team’ for Sky. Strike Back is a quality drama with incredibly high production values.”
