Kobo has revamped its line-up of eBook readers, adding a lit screen mode and new mini version to the range.
The new 6” front-lit, Kobo Glo allows book lovers to read day or night and includes a no-glarescreen that Kobo describe as “just like reading print on paper” and will be priced at £99.99.
The 5” E Ink Kobo Mini is described as the “smallest and lightest full-featured” eReader and comes in black or white and offers a selection of three changeable backs in Teal, Ruby Red, and Purple. The Kobo Mini will be available from October 1st priced at £59.99.
Kobo also unveiled a new tablet device running Google’s Android 4.0 operating system.
The Kobo Arc features a new a Kobo-developed interface called Tapestries, which responds to the user’s “pinned” content to recommend related videos, movies, books, webpages and other related content.
The device features a 16-million colour, 7” high-definition display, front-facing speakers with SRS TruMedia, a built-in microphone and high-resolution 1.3 MP camera to take photos and videos.
It also includes Google Play, giving users access to more than 600,000 apps and pre-loaded apps including Facebook, Twitter and Zinio. The Kobo Arc will be available this November, starting at £159.99 for an 8GB model and £189.99 for a 16GB variant.
