Maleficent, Disney’s big screen hit revealing the previously untold story of Sleeping Beauty’s iconic villain, is heading to DVD and Blu-ray in October.

The film stars Angelina Jolie in the lead role alongside Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land.

Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone.

Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora.

As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well…

The home entertainment release is packed with all-new bonus features, including several deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes featurettes which promise to take viewers deeper behind the scenes of the filmmaking magic.

From Fairy Tale to Feature Film shows how Disney’s animated classic “Sleeping Beauty” was re- imagined as an innovative, live-action epic while Building an Epic Battle reveals how King Henry and Maleficent’s opening battle scene was created using gigantic wire rigs and elaborate choreography.

Viewers can also relive the film’s journey to the screen through concept art, layered visual effects and behind the scenes footage in “Maleficent Revealed.”

Maleficent arrives On DVD, Blu-rayTM and 3D Blu-rayTM from October 20, 2014 – pre-order your copy today from Amazon.co.uk
