NOOK offers new customers free books and magazines

August 22, 2013 - Staff@seenituk

Smartphone and tablet users who open a new NOOK account and install the firm’s app will get three free books, including Philippa Gregory’s The White Queen.

From August 23rd, Android and iOS users who install the app will also get David Pearce’s Red or Dead, Cassandra Clare’s City of Bones, The Mortal Instrument Book 1 plus the August issue of tech magazine T3 and summer edition of The Simple Things.

“This great offer of free eBooks and magazines for new customers that download a NOOK Reading App is another part of NOOK’s strong commitment to make reading more affordable and accessible in the UK,” said Jim Hilt, Managing Director, Barnes & Noble S.à r.l.

“We are excited about the impact we are making on literacy in the UK this summer with our sponsorship of the Get Reading campaign and the corresponding discounts on the award-winning NOOK devices.”

Earlier this week the company was criticised by the UK’s advertising watchdog after a cut-price promotion for its NOOK Simple Touch ebook reader led to severe stock shortages.
