Parks and Recreation moves to UKTV’s Dave

June 9, 2015 - Staff@seenituk

Parks_recreationUS comedy Parks and Recreation is moving to Dave after the UKTV-owned channel snapped up the rights to Seasons 4 to 7.

The show, which will launch this Summer, stars Hollywood A–listers Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live), Rashida Jones (The Social Network), Aziz Ansari (Ice Age: Continental Drift), Nick Offerman (22 Jump Street), Aubrey Plaza (The To Do List), Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World), Adam Scott (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) and Rob Lowe (The West Wing, Brothers and Sisters).

The series sees Leslie Knope (Poehler) and her trusty group of office mates followed around by a documentary crew, offering a quirky look into their everyday lives at the Parks and Recreation department in Pawnee, Indiana.

Leslie’s passion for Pawnee and her never-ending efforts to better the department make for some comical situations. Season 4 picks up with Leslie running for city council while Ron Swanson (Offerman) has his hands full with the women in his life.

Meanwhile, the rest of the clan is left to deal with the everyday toils of office romances and politics.

Alexandra Finlay, Head of Acquisitions for UKTV, says, “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with NBCUniversal on this deal. As an award-winning comedy with a superb cast, Parks and Recreation is a fantastic addition to Dave’s scripted acquisition slate.”

Steve North, General Manager for Dave added, “Parks and Recreation feels like it was written for Dave; the wit and humour fits perfectly on the channel and will be a great addition to the slate, sitting alongside Suits which we are bringing closer to the US TX.”
