Paul O’Grady will make a guest appearance in BBC One’s medical drama Holby City later this year as cancer patient Tim Connor, the BBC has announced.

O’Grady is well known for his drag queen comedic alter ego, Lily Savage and as a popular host of entertainment shows, including hit teatime chat show the ‘Paul O’Grady Show’, ‘Paul O’Grady’s For The Love Of Dogs’.

He currently hosts his own show on BBC Radio 2.

He said: “I’m a big fan of Holby City so to be featuring in three episodes is absolutely brilliant.”

Oliver Kent, Executive Producer, Holby City, said: “Having Paul appear in Holby City is such a great coup for the show. Paul has a vibrant personality and a very unique way of engaging with the audience – not to mention he’s incredibly funny.

“This is exactly what we need for a storyline that will be filled with a rollercoaster of emotions.”

O’Grady will appear in three episodes and will make his on screen debut in September 2013.
