Pre-orders have opened for Dune: Awakening, Funcom’s upcoming open-world survival MMO based on the legendary sci-fi novel by Frank Herbert.
Due for release on May 20th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game combines the grit and creativity of survival games with the interactivity of a large, persistent multiplayer game to create a unique and ambitious open-world survival MMO.
Funcom says the emphasis lies in the freedom it offers in choosing and pursuing your goals, and the emergent moments that arise as they clash with that of other players.
It also stresses that gamers can look forward to multiple free updates with new content and features as well as optional paid DLCs.
To mark the occasion, Funcom has released a video showing how award-winning composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen brought the game’s music to life.
