Sky orders fourth series of Strike Back

October 5, 2012 - Staff@seenituk

Sky One has ordered a fourth series of its hit action series Strike Back, based on the book by Chris Ryan.

The first series, starring Richard Armitage as a special forces solider carrying out ‘black ops’, aired in 2010 to rave reviews. The third series, which stars Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton, is currently airing.

The new ten-part series will be filmed South Africa and Hungary for transmission next year.

The new run will once again be a co-production between Sky and CINEMAX/HBO and will be produced by Left Bank Pictures.

The producers are withholding casting details to avoid spoilers for the current series.

Huw Kennair-Jones, Sky’s Commissioning Editor, Drama said:”We’re really excited to be welcoming Scott, Stonebridge and the Section 20 team back for another series of STRIKE BACK, and thrilled to be working with HBO/ CINEMAX again to give UK audiences another series of explosive, home grown action adventure.”

Strike Back series 1 and 2 are available on DVD and Blu-ray from Amazon.co.uk
