Hearing impaired TV fans will soon be able to enjoy more of their favourite shows after Sky announced plans to boost the amount of Video on Demand content it offers with subtitles.
According to the broadcaster, “over 90 per cent” of content across 26 of its most watched channels and “thousands of hours” of on demand content available via the Sky+ box currently includes subtitles.
However this still leaves many popular shows which are inaccessible for viewers with hearing impairments.
In a blog post the broadcaster says a dedicated team is now working to address this so that “by summer 2016, all our customers will be able to watch the most popular and best Sky on demand content, on their TVs, with subtitles.”
