TalkTalk predicts 1m TV customers

TalkTalkTalkTalk has added a further 167,000 TV subscribers in the 6 months to September, taking its TV customer base to 557,000.

The company offers a selection on Pay-TV channels via broadband and a YouView box and says it now expects total TV subscriptions to reach 1m by year end.

It also added 5,000 new broadband customers and upgraded 47,000 to its fibre broadband products, the upgrades helped increase average spending per customer by 1.9%.

34,000 customers also took a mobile phone from the company.

Total revenue in the period was up 1.8% to £843m.

Chief Executive ,Dido Harding, said: “We are delighted with the progress we have made in the first half.  We have the fastest growing TV business in the UK and we now expect to have nearly 1m TV customers by the end of FY14. “
