A decade ago, This Life premièred on BBC Two and changed the face of television drama.
Viewers were captivated by the turbulent lives of the group of twenty-something, newly qualified lawyers, who lived, loved and played hard, whilst sharing a house in London, and the drama also won industry acclaim and awards.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary Andrew Lincoln, Amita Dhiri, Jason Hughes, Daniela Nardini and Jack Davenport reunite with executive producer Tony Garnett and creator and principal writer Amy Jenkins for an exclusive episode to be broadcast this Christmas.
Thirty-two episodes of This Life were first broadcast over two series during 1996 and 1997, and the final, explosive instalment left its devoted audience begging for more.
Fast-forward a decade and This Life + 10 re-introduces Miles, Milly, Warren, Egg and Anna in a one-off special.
As the drama opens, Egg, Milly, Warren, Anna and Miles meet again at Warren’s ex-lover Ferdy’s funeral. Egg has become a successful writer, Milly is a full-time mum and Anna is still a lawyer, while Warren and Miles have pursued other careers.
Egg’s latest book is based on the group’s lives in the Nineties, when they shared a house.
A TV production company, fronted by documentary film-maker Clare, is at the launch of Egg’s book and she suggests that she films a reunion of the group.
The reunion takes place in Miles’s country pile over a long weekend. Will old romances be rekindled or will old arguments resurface..?
