txtr adds 250,000 Smashwords titles to catalogue

May 20, 2014 - Staff@seenituk

txtr_6001German-based ebook retailer txtr is to start offering titles from Smashwords, the world’s largest distributor of indie ebooks.

More than 250,000 Smashwords titles will be made available over the coming weeks and will be available via txtr.com and within the txtr Android and Windows 8 apps.

The books will also be available to customers of third party stores – including those of retailers such as the UK’s Foyles, mobile network operators and device makers – which are powered by txtr’s white-label service.

Anne-Sophie Lanier, VP Content of txtr, says: “We are absolutely delighted to add Smashwords’ ebooks to our international catalog of 1.5 million titles.

“Smashwords and txtr share the same mission of making more books available to more people: Smashwords by making it fast, free and easy for any author or
publisher, anywhere in the world, to publish and distribute ebooks, txtr by enabling third parties to offer a compelling ebook discovery and e-reading experience on any device.”

”We’re pleased to make the Smashwords catalog available to txtr,” said Mark Coker, founder of Smashwords.

“txtr will expand the global reach of our books by making our books accessible across a broad range of Android, iOS and Windows 8 devices as well as web browsers.”
